NEW EDITING REPORT! I
have added an editing report for Neon Genesis Evangelion based
on information from Patrick R. and using screen shots provided
by Will Marone. In addition to describing the overlays ADV
used on the first Eva DVD (and thankfully abandoned for DVD volumes 2-8),
the editing report details a missing ENDING from DVD volume 2 and other
changes to the opening and a subtitle mistake/change. Read the editing
report HERE
or find it in the 'Full
List' link.

Updated: I
finally got around to doing screen shots of the BITCH and LOSER changes
in ADV's version of Lost Universe. Read the editing report

List' link.

NEW EDITING REPORT! I
have added an editing report for Nightwarriors based on information
from Ken Arromdee. The character names in Viz's release
were changed in both the Englush sub and English dub to correspond to
the U.S. video game release. Read the editing report HERE
or find it in the 'Full
List' link.

Fanime 2001 News! I
attended the Fanime convention in Santa Clara, California this weekend
and picked up a few pieces of information:
- Manga Video indicated that the Neon Genesis Evangelion
movies (Death, Rebirth, and End of Evangelion) will be unedited
and they are planning on doing a release as close to and as accurate
to the original as possible. I suggested leaving the video entirely
alone and using DVD subs for any and all translations (much like Jubei-chan)
and the Manga rep (Keith) was receptive and suggested I e-mail them
to remind him (cons being hell on your memory).
- Bandai confirmed they are doing some enhancements and alteration
to the Mobile Suit Gundam TV series video to 'improve' it and
make it more attractive for today's kids. Basically they are modifying
the video to change how it looks to appeal to modern audiences. Well,
since it's only going to be released as 'First Gundam' with only
the English dub due to licensing issues, it's best regarded as an edited
release at this point video-wise until we see exactly what they've done
to it. Bandai indicated that if/when they get the rights to do a dual
language release with subs, they may use the original video and not
their 'improved' video. Time will tell.
- VIZ unfortunately didn't have any VIZ Video people at
the con, so news on some of the Viz Video issues I have went unanswered.
Bill Flannagan (editor of Animerica Extra) did indicate that they
haven't received the materials for volume 5 of Video Girl Ai and
thus didn't know if they would get/had the two pages that were removed
from the censored version of the Video Girl AI manga in Japan after
it's initial uncensored release there.
