UPDATED EDITING REPORTS: I've added some Quicktime movies of the missing Cutey Honey opening on ADV's DVD release and of the shower scene from Sony's Streat Fighter 2 movie. With thanks to information posted by Sapphire on the Anime on DVD forums, I have added an editing report for Mysterious Thief Saint Tail. In addition to missing opening and endings between episodes and the use of a karaoke version of theOP/ED songs on volume 1 (which reportedly will be fixed on future volumes), the dub removes most–if not all–references to God. Sunday, August 12th, 2001 NEW EDITING REPORT! I have added an editing report for Mail Order Maiden 28. It's unclear where the edit was made and by whom, but there is a mosaiced shot shown in the end credits that doesn't appear in the main story. Wednesday, August 8th, 2001 Sprite and other CPM titles edited? Some comments were made by Justin Sevakis of CPM in the Anime on DVD forum recently (the thread is HERE as of 8/8/2001) that not only was Fencer of Minerva edited (which we have previously reported on in THIS editing report), but they also edited Sprite and seem to have other titles they may have edited or are planning on editing. Mention was made of editing "hardcore sex" for some titles. Since they have an adult label (Anime 18), there is no excuse for this. Even though Justin mentioned young characters being a concern, the women in Sprite are clearly mature enough visually to be 18 or older. I've put an informational entry into the editing list for Sprite, but since I don't have details of what has been edited I'm not going to do a full editing report at this time. In addition to being careful of which CPM titles I will buy in the future, I'll be investigating this issue further with CPM, but I also encourage all anime fans interested in stopping the senseless editing anime (any anime, adult or otherwise) to write, call, or e-mail CPM and complain about these edits.
