NEW EDITING REPORT! I have added an editing report for Bio Hunter based on information from Ken Lee. Nothing major, but Urban Vision cut out the visuals used for the original ending credits and used a freeze frame for their English ones. Read the editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link. NEW EDITING REPORT! I have added an editing report for Macross: Do You Remember Love based on information from Rick Payne. Read the editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link.
Updated Street Fighter 2 V Editing Report: Daniel Zelter has sent in some additional information on the changes to the music and openings and endings on the Street Fighter 2 V TV series, mostly on the recent DVD release. Read the updated editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link. Updated Transformers Editing Report: Steve-o Stonebraker has sent in some additional information on Transformers differences between here and Japan, as well as info on the edited movie releases. Remember, this isn't really anime since it started as a American program, but it's included here for informational purposes. There are also a lot of contradictions about what edits, if any, have been done to Transformers, so this editing report is made up of various reports, none of which I can vouch for as far as their accuracy is concerned. Read the updated editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link.
Sunday, March 4th, 2001 3x3 Eyes Information: There's been some reports that the dub for Pioneer's new 3x3 Eyes re-release was laced with Gargoyles inside jokes (because the dub was made using various people who worked on Gargoyles). Maybe it's because I've only seen a couple episodes of Gargoyles, but I didn't notice anything amiss with the dub when I watched the DVDs this weekend. Comparing the dub with the sub I didn't notice any glaring differences, so if the Gargoyles jokes are in the dub they might be in the subs as well. Sailor Moon S TV DVD dub Information: As many of you know, when Sailor Moon S was shown on Cartoon Network, the dub (which was made by CWI) had many changes to hide the lesbian relationship between Neptune and Uranus and to change various other story elements (such as the Messiah). I had hoped that Pioneer would have CWI redub these serious plot and story changes for the uncut DVD release. Unfortunately this does not appear to be true. They dubbed the scenes that were edited out of the Cartoon Network version, but according to several people who have the first Sailor Moon S TV DVD, the dub does contain many of the changes and inaccurate dialog. Since the dub on the three Sailor Moon movie DVDs was mostly accurate to the original story (save the name changes and a few less than pleasant moments of dummbed down script changes), I had been hoping for similar treatment of the SM S and Super S TV uncut releases. In the end, if you want to really see Sailor Moon S and Super S TV uncut, you'll have to watch the subtitled version available on the DVD because the dub is only uncut as far as the video is concerned (save them using only a single opening and not putting the previews on the discs). I've updated the Sailor Moon editing report to reflect this. Edited Cartoon Network version of Outlaw Star: Outlaw Star was shown Cartoon Network in an edited form. Although I'm not going to do an editing report on it myself because it is available uncut on VHS and DVD, the following site has a list of some of the edits made: http://www.icomic.com/outlawstar/mainmisc.shtml
