NEW EDITING REPORT: Malice@Doll
Arts Magic has edited their North American release of the three Malice@Doll OVA episodes into a single movie. Maybe anime buyers (even if this 3D animation isn't exactly anime to many people) in the United Kingdom don't mind edited releases, but most North American anime companies have learned not to do these 'movie' edits. Hopefully, Arts Magic will learn from this mistake for any future releases. Read the editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link.

Yu-gi-oh! uncut update:
Trying to clarify if the English dub will be the original edited version or a new one, I have confirmed with my source from 4Kids Entertainment that they are in fact making an all-new English dub using the original English voice actors for the uncut DVD release.

NEW EDITING REPORT: Demon Lord Dante Geneon has confirmed that they only have the edited version of Demon Lord Dante they are releasing on DVD in North America and that nothing will/can be done to obtain the original Japanese version. Read the editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link.

Even if Geneon didn't do the censoring themselves, THEY still bear the responsibility of not having checked to see what they were licensing. Especially since this was licensed from Enoki (who have a long history of doing edits or providing sub-par versions of the titles they license), Geneon should have known better than to take anything Enoki says/gives to them.

As always, we recommend you not buy the edited release and call, write or e-mail Geneon to9 tell them exactly why you won't buy it.

Yu-gi-oh! and Shaman King uncut news: A source from 4Kids Entertainment has confirmed with animeprime.com that they (in conjunction with Funimation) will be releasing Yu-gi-oh! and Shaman King on DVD with "completely uncut and uncensored video", Japanese language, and English subtitles. The original English dub will also be included, but will contain any changes already made to those dubs.

No additional information was available at this time. I asked about the possibility of uncut One Piece, but the only information available was that One Piece will air on FoxBox (and, sadly, the edits that 4Kids will have to do to meet Fox's low standards).

I'm glad that 4Kids is starting to understand that there is a bigger anime audience out there than the "7-year-old boy" market that they and the TV networks seem to cherish and will try to force anime titles into, regardless of it's original target audience or appropriateness.

It still leaves fans of English dubbed anime out in the cold as far as an accurate, uncut dub with the original names goes, but it's a good first step into the world of releasing anime as "anime". This, as well as their decision to not change "Tokyo Mew Mew" to "Hollywood Mew Mew", shows that they have heard the cries of anime fans over the fate of their past titles and that future 4Kids titles may not be lost to the scissors in North America.

Hopefully, the sales of the uncut DVDs will help prove to 4Kids that anime doesn't have to be edited and toned down to make money. If you want to see these titles uncut, this will probably be your best shot to get them in English (even without an uncut dub) and you will help make the chances of future uncut titles from 4Kids a reality.

Updated Editing Information #1: ADV has restored the correct openings and endings to their new (June 2004) "Anime Essentials" release of Cutey Honey. Read the updated editing report HERE.

Updated Editing Information #2: CPM has restored the original ending to their new (June 2004) "Collectors Edition" release of Urusei Yatsura Movie 2: Beautiful Dreamer. Read the updated editing report HERE.

It's nice to see that the companies are fixing these old edits/mistakes on these re-releases. Making the edits in the first place was bad enough, not taking the chance to correct them on re-releases would be a wasted opportunity. Kudos.

Updated Editing Information: According to Anime News Network, 4Kids will be retaining the original name for Tokyo Mew Mew after all. Originally, it was reported that they would be changing it to Hollywood Mew Mew. It's still too early if they will change their ways and not make other changes and edits to this show, but restoring the name is a good first start. You can read the press release HERE.

Updated Editing Information: Thanks to Lemar Green, we've received word that the original opening will be used for the 'Anime Essentials' re-release of Shin City Hunter. This one never made it into our editing reports, but it's good to see ADV is correcting their past mistakes in these re-releases.

Updated Editing Information: ADV has announced that they will be releasing the original Gatchaman television series uncut on DVD. Cross another old school anime that was only available in a butchered version off the list. Read the updated editing report HERE.

New Editing Information: It appears that Geneon has edited or received an already edited version version of Demon Lord Dante. I'll put up a editing report when there is more information, but you can check out THIS thread on Anime on DVD for current information.

HELL HAS FROZEN OVER

Although not confirmed by Kitty/Media Blasters or in my hands to be personally verified yet, Anime News Network and Anime on DVD are reporting that we will see a totally UNCUT version of KITE in September.

Considering that the AnimePrime No Editing Zone was born as result of the original Kite release that was heavily edited, this is a red letter day for this site, me, and all fans who want all anime to be released 100% uncut.
