Description of what effects the edits/changes had on the original story/plot (opinion)

None to the actual story/plot, but they did make it impossible to see the episodes as they were originally aired with previews and omake segments intact.

 Detailed description of video edits

Some of the short recaps of events that happened before the commercials were edited out (sometimes along with the eyecatch). Verified on episodes 1 and 2.

Detailed description of opening, ending, eyecatches, and preview changes

Previews for the next episode were completely removed from the North American version.

The 'who is it today' omake segments which featured a random character form the show in a guessing game were omitted from the VHS versions. On the DVD version, these omake segments were included as en extra, but were not randomly shown between episodes like they were originally.

Some of the early eyecatches (which is just a small logo in the corner of the screen were removed), but later ones were replaced with the English MKR logo.

The episode title screen was changed from a blue screen with a fancy frame (similar to the ending graphics) to a picture of the three Magic Knights with the title in English.

The opening logo was replaced with an English logo at the request of the Japanese licenser.

Detailed description of English subtitle changes
Season 1 Sub VHS: Use of -ster as a suffix instead of -chan (DVD release did not use this suffix in the English subtitles).

Anime´ Notes
The opening was edited together from an 'international version of the opening and various portions from laser disk. We are not including this as an 'edit' since Media Blasters did make a good faith effort to restore as much of the opening as possible.
