Description
of what effects the edits/changes had on the original story/plot (opinion)
Little, but it was part of the final story of the season and intended as either a lead in to the next season or a final scene to close out the season. Either way, it really should have been left in all versions CPM released. A fan has started a petition to ask CPM to restore the scene to the remastered Slayers boxset (to correct audio problems) or the Slayers Try boxset. You can sign it HERE. |

Detailed
description of video edits
A 50 second scene at the end of episode 26 was cut from the North American VHS dub tape and the North American DVD release (which probably used the dub masters for the video). The scene WAS present on the VHS sub release and added as an extra tot he Slayers TRY DVD boxset, so CPM does have the footage and rights to use it. The scene involved a messenger urging Prince Phil to return to Seyruun due to an emergency. Here is a transcript of the scene:

Detailed
description of opening and ending changes
| The first four VHS tapes (sub and dub) and frist 2 DVD volumes (eps 1-13) did not have eyecatches or previews due to the materials not being supplied to CPM by the Japanese licensor. |

Detailed
description of English dub changes
| Apparently in hopes of a television deal, some of Lina's spells (Dragu Slave for instance) were changed to remove the dark nature of them. In the original, she would pledge herself to darkness and evil in return for power. The spells were apparently not changed in the subtitle script. |
